These girls are just as beautiful as their GORGEOUS mama!  They sure gave me a workout getting their pictures.  It was like trying to get pictures of my two monkeys!  I hope they slow down just a bit and give their mama a break though.  Being the spouse of a deployed Marine is NOT an easy job, but K is handling it very well.  I can't wait until O comes home, though so she can have a REAL break! :D

My friend Kricia is a new photographer here on the island.  The only downfall to being a photographer, is every once in a while, you have to actually be in FRONT of the camera!  It's much different from that end.  I prefer behind the camera myself.  But, when Kricia asked for someone to take her family picture for their Christmas Card, I jumped at the chance.  I knew that, being a photographer herself, she'd be up for almost anything.  She wanted something different from just the typical beach photos so I suggested that we take a short hike to a waterfall.  We were so lucky, too!  It wasn't raining and the light was beautiful with the water just POURING down the falls.  It was a great time had by all.

Let’s hear it for the boyz! | Hawaii Family Photographer

A kinder, more generous person I have not met than my dear friend, Darlene.  She has two boys of her own, helps out her younger brother, who also lives with her, and now has a great foster kid, as well!  With all this testosterone surrounding her, she still manages to keep her femininity and sanity! She is a hero of mine with all that she is able to do and handle.  Thank you, D, for letting me photograph your fun, zany, and handsome family!

North Shore Double Rainbow | Hawaii Landscape Photographer

Posted on November 7, 2009

While stopping at the North Shore Pipeline to see the legendary waves, I happened to catch this beautiful double rainbow!  Such sights regularly take me by surprise with their simple beauty.  Luckily, I had my camera with me to preserve it in my memory forever.

Of course, I couldn't leave without taking some shots of the amazing surfers doing their thing!  I also happened to meet Rocco Tramontano of www.HawaiianSwell.com who has some amazing, no really, AMAZING shots of the surfers and bodyboarders!
